Prior to founding MAVRIK, Mark Pathy was President and CEO of Fednav International Ltd., an international dry bulk shipping company, and co-CEO of its parent company Fednav Limited. He remains a member of the group’s Board of Directors. Before joining Fednav in 1999, Mark worked in advertising in Toronto.

Mark is the Chairman of the Board of Stingray Group Inc., a position he has held since November 2017 after initially joining the Board in 2015. Stingray is a publicly traded leading music, media, and technology company based in Montreal.

Mark strongly believes in the importance of philanthropy. He is Chairman of the Board of the Pathy Family Foundation, and the Dans La Rue Foundation. In addition, he is a member of the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation's Board and Executive Campaign Cabinet.

Mark obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto in 1993 and a Master’s in Business Administration from INSEAD in 1998.

As President and Chief Investment Officer of MAVRIK, Brad heads up all of the group’s investment activities and oversees all other day-to-day functions within the Family Office, including strategic planning, governance and group-wide operations. Brad joined MAVRIK in 2019, prior to which he spent over 20 years in commercial law, finance, and family office roles. 

Brad began his career as a lawyer in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York. He subsequently served as a Director in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at UBS Investment Bank, also in New York.  Most recently, Brad spent 10 years as Investment Director for the Westminster Group, a London-based single-family office, which Brad helped to build and manage during his time with the group.

Brad has earned a BA in Political Science and Economics from McGill University, as well as a JD degree and MBA from Cornell University.

Daniel joined MAVRIK in 2018. As the VP of Operations, Daniel oversees all strategic operations and cross-functional integration for the Family Office, including long-term tax strategy, estate and succession planning, and philanthropic direction. He leads the creation and execution of new divisions, drives alignment across advisors and internal teams, and supports high-level strategic initiatives and personal matters for the family.

Prior to joining MAVRIK, Daniel worked as the Director of Finance for a sizeable asset administrator, whilst being involved in significant negotiations and leading the reorganization of the entity. Daniel also worked for a national accounting firm, directly working with a broad range of clients from SME to publicly listed companies.

Daniel is also highly involved on the boards of multiple SMEs and NPOs, guiding them with their strategic and structure planning, M&A, and more.

Daniel holds a BAA and DESS.CP from HEC Montréal. Daniel was also granted the Chartered Accountant title (CPA auditor, CA).

Edward joined MAVRIK in 2023 as the Vice President of Finance, overseeing financial matters across all activities of the family office and responsible for adapting key processes.

In his previous role, Edward was the CFO for the Paris-based independent multi-asset investment company Weinberg Capital Partners. Edward was responsible for finance, operations, digitalisation and compliance.

Edward began his career in finance, holding roles within global public corporations. Initially, he worked for Valeo, an automotive supplier at a production site in Mexico, followed by a position at the headquarters of L’Oréal Groupe, a global leader in cosmetics. He then moved on to Groupe Casino, a global retailer, where he was involved in a Post-Merger Integration context. In 2013, Edward joined the private equity group Eurazeo. Over time, he advanced to become the Finance Performance Director, working for both the holding and its portfolio companies across France, Europe, and the USA.

Edward holds a Master's Degree in Management from the ESSEC Programme Grande Ecole in Paris, France, and has served as a lecturer there for over five years.

As Director of Investments, Aditya heads public market investments and overall asset allocation at MAVRIK. For public equities and fixed income, Aditya sets strategic targets and leads manager sourcing and due diligence across geographies. Prior to Mavrik, Aditya spent 8 years in global macro and asset allocation roles.

Aditya started his career in the Global Asset Allocation group at BCA Research, helping North American allocators structure and optimize a global multi-asset portfolio. He also worked as a Macro Strategist at PGM Global, presenting clients with original global macro investment ideas in public markets.

Aditya has a BComm in Economics and Finance from McGill University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations.

As part of the investment team at MAVRIK, Cedrik oversees private market investments including strategic development, sourcing, diligence, and monitoring opportunities. Prior to joining MAVRIK, Cedrik worked in assurance specializing in financial institutions as well as consulting in the Deals Advisory department of KPMG LLP.

Cedrik earned a Graduate Degree in Professional Accounting and a BComm from McGill University. He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations.

As part of the investment team at MAVRIK, Aafsheen’s focus includes investment analysis, reporting and process integration for impact-focused opportunities. Prior to joining MAVRIK, Aafsheen spent 5 years in the renewable energy sector across management consulting, product development, and equity research roles.

Aafsheen started his career as an Economist with Genesis Ray Energy in New Delhi. He subsequently worked as an Energy Markets Analyst at ICF, also in New Delhi. Most recently, Aafsheen served as an Equity Analyst at Desautels Capital Management in Montréal.

Aafsheen has earned a BA (Honours) in Business Economics from Delhi University, a M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Nottingham as well as a Master’s of Management in Finance from McGill University.

As Director of Reporting, Performance and Risk, Kheu Sing (Lucy) Chher leads the overall risk analytics and performance reporting functions at MAVRIK. She is responsible for the data quality and integrity of the Investment Portfolio, as well as forecasting capital flow and asset allocation projections.

Lucy began her career in aerospace engineering at CAE before stepping into the financial markets in 2012. She joined Formula Growth as an Analyst in trading and risk management and evolved to being the Director of Risk and Analytics.

Lucy graduated from McGill University with a BA in Mathematics and Computer Sciences. She holds an MBA in Investment Management and received the CFA charter holder designation in 2017.

Pursuing excellence and integrity has always been her guiding principle in life and professionally.

As Director of Finance at MAVRIK, Gabriel oversees cash management, tax compliance, and investment support. With over five years of expertise in the family office sector, including experience at Richter and Manulife, he specializes in managing complex investment structures and optimizing tax strategies.

In this role, he ensures tax and legal efficiency, supports the investment team during due diligence, and plays a key part in cash flow forecasting. His background in tax planning for complex investments, combined with accounting skills acquired at KPMG, enables effective financial management. He holds a CPA designation and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

Gabriel is also involved in MAVRIK's philanthropic efforts, aligning with the family’s values of giving back and environmental stewardship. Driven by continuous improvement and a commitment to learning, he consistently supports the family’s long-term goals with forward-thinking financial strategies.

Rick Gorab is the Senior Advisor at MAVRIK. He has over twenty years of experience working with family offices to develop a strong overall investment strategy, select investments, and monitor portfolio performance based on that strategy.

Rick’s investment career has taken him to Canada, the UK, Switzerland, and the Middle East, with a diversified client base including banks, family offices, and sovereign wealth funds. His investment career started with Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management in London, UK. Most recently Rick was based in Dubai as the Director and Chief Representative of RBC’s Middle East operations. In that capacity, he was in charge of RBC’s wealth management, trust operations, global custody, and pension business for the Middle East, India and Africa.

Rick earned a BComm from the University of Toronto and an MBA from Erasmus University in the Netherlands.

Catherine Dezoete serves as the Administration, People, & Operations lead at MAVRIK, while also maintaining a pivotal role as the Executive Assistant to the President and Chief Investment Officer. Her responsibilities encompass a broad range of functions, from managing payroll, recruitment, employee onboarding and offboarding, to overseeing team learning and development initiatives. Catherine ensures that both the office and people operations run smoothly, contributing to a positive and efficient work environment.

In addition to her operational expertise, Catherine plays an imperative role in supporting the President/CIO’s professional and personal needs. She also manages office facilities, coordinates IT services, and builds strong relationships with third-party providers, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.

Catherine is currently completing her HR Management Certificate at McGill University, further strengthening her expertise in people management. Prior to her current role, she studied Social Services at Dawson College and worked with various community organizations, including the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal and Tyndale-St-Georges. She also holds an AEC (Attestation of College Studies) from Lasalle College's Administrative Assistant program, which she completed in 2019.

Amanda is the Executive Assistant to Mark Pathy, CEO and Chairman of MAVRIK. With over eight years of experience, she continues to demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and a keen ability to manage complex professional and personal matters.

Prior to working at MAVRIK, Amanda held key roles supporting high-level executives at renowned companies, including Arc’teryx Equipment and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment. Her background, combined with her extensive practical knowledge, equips her with a comprehensive understanding of business operations and management principles.

Although originally from Vancouver, Amanda graduated from the John Molson School of Business at Concordia University with her BComm in Business Management.

Kate Fatkulova is the Executive Assistant to the VP of Operations and VP of Finance at MAVRIK CORP., where she plays a central role in driving executive operations, managing cross-functional priorities, and leading company-wide events. 

She previously supported senior executives at Amazon and Northvolt and served as Project Manager on a European commission-funded initiative, overseeing stakeholder engagement across international teams. Kate studied Mathematics and Statistics at Concordia University and is currently pursuing her PMP certification. 

She brings a sharp analytical mindset, strong organizational skills, and a passion for operational excellence and philanthropy-driven initiatives.
